The Regent Organisation
heads for Microsoft Dynamics GP with
Touchstone Group
22 August 2007: The Regent Organisation (“Regent”), one of
the top 50 IFAs & Actuaries has chosen AIM listed IT
consultancy and software solutions provider, Touchstone Group, to
supply them with Microsoft Dynamics GP financial and accounting
software.
Regent acts for both private and corporate
clients in the financial services sector. The independent advice
and services they provide covers four main areas: Actuarial, Group
Pension & Employee Benefits, Outsourcing & Resource and
Independent Financial Advice. In addition, they are able to offer
On-Line Services for Direct Offerings.
From a start up in 1997, Regent is now a Group
with three operating companies and an expected consolidated
turnover for this year of nearly £10 million, Regent’s plan is for
growth to continue at this rate by virtue of further acquisitions
and organically which means that strong financial control and high
level management reporting are a prerequisite.
However, with the company’s original financial
systems reaching the limit of their ability, Regent decided it
needed to invest in an all new financial control system that would
provide even greater levels of management reporting and yet have
the ability to grow with the company over time. The brief placed a
high priority on areas such as debtors, individual consultant
performance against budget and expenditure control.
After an extensive review of the market,
Regent chose Microsoft Dynamics GP to be implemented by Touchstone
Group who were selected on the basis of their professionalism and
experience in the financial services sector. Richard Fremantle,
Managing Director, Regent, notes, “Financial issues have become
more recognised as a puzzle by both companies and individuals. By
solving our clients’ problems well, we have grown rapidly on the
basis of our reputation and through acquisition.
It was a prudent time for us to evaluate
what the company now needed in control and reporting terms to
support the next stage of our growth. Microsoft Dynamics GP
delivers the right balance of flexibility, power and sophistication
in terms of report generation to meet out needs. Having made that
choice, the next question was, “Who do you trust to implement it?”
Touchstone Group has a strong reputation in the financial services
sector and we were impressed by their approach. We look forward,
therefore, to exploiting the fruits of the new system in the near
future, especially, of course, when it comes to assessing the
financial impact of potential acquisitions.”
For his part Adrian McNay, Group
Board Director, Touchstone Group added, “At all levels Regent
has built a well earned reputation for problem solving and this is
especially true when it comes to delivering effective solutions to
the complex needs of its clients. We are delighted therefore to
have provided a solution for Regent’s financial control needs that
will grow with them as their success story continues.”
