Arawak Energy improves
accounting function with Touchstone Group
18 May 2006: Arawak Energy (UK) Limited, the UK subsidiary
of Toronto-listed international upstream oil and gas company Arawak
Energy Corporation, has placed an order valued at £260,000 for the
supply and implementation of SunSystems Accounting & Proactis
Procurement from business solutions consultancy, Touchstone Group.
The solution will assist in the company’s standardisation of the
accounting function across the company’s various operating
businesses, whilst delivering enhanced management reporting and
procurement control.
Working with Touchstone Group, Arawak will
deploy a 50 user system across three countries, Russia, Kazakhstan
and the UK, over the next 9 months. Arawak had previously been
using various local systems, and made the decision to standardise
the system using SunSystems and Proactis to provide a single
solution for all locations.
Touchstone Group was selected ahead of stiff
competition to provide an extensive range of IT and professional
services to Arawak users. One of the primary reasons for selecting
SunSystems & Proactis was that both solutions are available in
the Russian language. In addition, both solutions meet the
international and statutory compliance of all three countries.
Furthermore, SunSystems has a proven track record in the energy
sector, particularly with its capability to deliver very detailed
cost analysis reporting. System Union’s SunSystems solution has
been installed by over 600 Oil and Gas customers worldwide.
Adrian
McNay, Group Board Director, Touchstone Group,
comments, “We are delighted to announce this new deal with Arawak
Energy. We believe that with our expertise and acute understanding
of business requirements in this industry, we can fundamentally aid
improvements of Arawak’s operations to deal with today’s demands as
well as its future requirements and business growth.”
