SunSystems Accounting to deliver improved
functionality and software integration across luxury hotel
business
26 October 2006: Super-luxury hotel company, Maybourne
Hotel Group, owner of three of the world’s most renowned hotels -
The Berkeley, Claridge’s and The Connaught - has placed an order
worth £200,000 with Touchstone Group for the implementation of
Sunsystems financial accounting and management reporting
solution. The new solution will replace their existing AS400 JD
Edwards finance system and provide the necessary functionality and
scalability needed by the Group to meet their demanding expansion
plans, improve financial reporting, reduce staff training costs and
cut the Group’s expenditure as a whole.
Ralf Balzer, Director of Information
Technology, Maybourne Hotel Group, comments, “Our legacy system had
been in place for a long time but we realised that it was simply no
longer suitable for us and so began to look for a more advanced
solution. We wanted a finance solution that was reputable in the
hotel industry and so looked to Touchstone Group for guidance. They
recommended SunSystems Accounting as it is built upon a modern
technology platform, is easy to administer, user-friendly and able
to integrate seamlessly with other systems. Overall, SunSystems
fitted our criteria exactly.”
SunSystems Accounting modules are specifically
designed to provide immediate access to all financial and
accounting information to support fast and effective decision
making. The Accounting module delivers Ledger Accounting and Budget
& Commitment Control, while additional options for Corporate
Allocations and Asset Register enhance the breadth of the financial
management offering.
Balzer continues, “Touchstone Group’s solution
stood out to us in the evaluation process because of the company’s
notable proven track record with supplying similar solutions to
other hospitality clients. Additionally, Touchstone Group proved to
us that the system had a much greater flexibility than the others
systems we looked at.”
Following the implementation of the necessary
hardware infrastructure, Maybourne Hotel Group is looking to
transfer its Accounts Receivable ledger across to SunSystems
Accounting, which will form part of the Group’s next IT
project.
Balzer concludes, “We are very impressed with
the professionalism and level of service that we have received from
Touchstone Group; everything has been delivered within the
timescales we requested. The qualities that the new solution will
add to the business will be a massive support to the company as we
look to expand our hotel services outside of the UK.”
