National Galleries of Scotland Paint Healthy Financial Picture
with Microsoft Dynamics GP from Touchstone Group
26 September 2007: Touchstone Group, the leading AIM
listed IT Consultancy and software solutions provider has been
chosen to implement Microsoft Dynamics GP to the National Galleries
of Scotland. The Galleries look after one of the world's finest
collections of Western art ranging from the Middle Ages to the
present day including the National Collection of Scottish Art.
Every year, over a million visitors both from Scotland and the rest
of the world pass through the various Galleries sited in
Edinburgh.
As a major public resource and a
registered charity funded by the Scottish Executive, the need for
effective and accountable financial control is significant and when
the Galleries needed to update their financial control systems they
undertook a comprehensive review of which applications would best
meet their requirements.
The National Galleries of Scotland
chose Touchstone Group to implement Microsoft Dynamics GP as it
offered improved consolidation, management reporting and greater
self service efficiency for users. The National Galleries of
Scotland turned to Touchstone Group because of their expertise in
Microsoft financials and their experience in supplying financial
technology to major organisations.
Commenting on the choice Lynn
Banks, Head of Finance, National Galleries of Scotland, noted,
"There are formal procurement procedures for public bodies and the
specific needs of the Galleries to take into account when choosing
a finance system. Microsoft Dynamics GP met our requirements and we
felt it would make an especially positive impact on our management
reporting and come truly into its own when it came to consolidating
the accounts for the Galleries. We were reassured too that
Touchstone were capable of matching the technology to our unique
needs."
Adrian McNay, Executive Director, Touchstone Group, commented;
"The National Galleries of Scotland have to meet the highest
standards of financial control across a number of locations and in
an environment that brings together government funding,
not-for-profit charitable status and public access to some of the
world’s greatest fine art. Microsoft Dynamics GP has no problem in
adapting to this unique blend of needs and requirements and we are
delighted that they have chosen to work with Touchstone on this
exciting project."
