Important Information
- Clients on 4.2.6 SP9 will have to upgrade to SP11 before
31st December 2009 due to a bug in the software that
will not let you serialise past that point. Please contact support
for further information
- Problems converting Excel formula spreadsheets from Vision 5 to Vision 6. If you are using the
OLD addin (ie using Vision5.XLA addin which appears as Vision XL -
in brackets - on your Excel Toolbar), we have found that in some
cases you cannot convert straight to Vision 6. In these cases, you
will need to do an interim conversion to the NEW Vision 5 addin (ie
LsVisXLB.XLA addin which appears as Vision XL - NOT in brackets -
on the tool bar).

There are two main product streams currently maintained by
Infor – 4.x and 5.x
Current & future releases are shown below.

Vision products work along side SunSystems.
Note: In Nov 2007 Vision was rebranded as Infor Performance
Management Query & Analysis (Infor PM QA)

5.3.1 – released by (Infor Q3 2007)
Patchset 7 has been released by
Touchstone (March 2008).
Infor have released Patchsets 8 & 9.
Touchstone are currently testing and are expecting to release early
May.

Patchset 12 has been released by Touchstone
(October 2007)
There are no additional patchsets currently
available from Infor and it is unlikely that there will be any
further development or patches.

SunSystems v 4.x
4.3.2
Released by Touchstone Sep 2007. No patchsets
or service packs have been released. Works with Global Security
1.2. (This superceded 4.3.1 and Global Security 1.1) note:
this is the first 4.x true SQL 2005 compliant
version
Infor have released Global Security 1.3 which
is currently undertaking testing by Touchstone and is expected to
be released in May
Must run Vision 6.3 or above
4.2.6 Service Pack 11
Released by Infor 2006. Some additional
patches were released in Q3 2007 to make this work with SQL 2005,
however some performance issues have been reported as this is not a
true SQL 2005 compliant version.
Important Notice: There is a bug in the software that will not
be fixed. This means that any customer running SP9 or below
will not be able to serialise past 31st December
2009. Therefore, when ordering serialisation, you will only be
issued with temporary codes, not your full two year
code. Please contact Support or your Account Manager about
upgrading to the latest Service Packs.
Vision (Infor PM Q&A)
Infor PM QA v10.0.1 – released by Infor
February 2008. Touchstone have completed testing and have released
this version but it should be noted that there are some differences
that have impacted on some clients upgrade. Please contact
support for release documentation.
Note: this is the first Office 2007
& Vista compliant version
Vision 6.3.3-1
Released by Touchstone Q3 2007. SQL 2005
compliant but not supported on Office 2007 or Vista.
Vision 6.2.x
This version has moved into limited support
and an upgrade is strongly recommended.
Vision 5.1.x
This version is in very limited support by the
software authors. An upgrade to 6.3.x or above is strongly
recommended. A conversion routine from v5.x to 6.x exists and dual
licenses are provided for a period of 12 months to ensure a smooth
transition and adequate testing time is provided
Vision 5.0.x
This version is unsupported by the software
authors. A direct upgrade to 6.3 or above should be possible but
some re-write will be required. This is not officially supported on
Windows XP or Office 2000 or above
Vision 3.1.5-2.
This is last release of Vision for ISAM
versions. This is still fully supported on ISAM with 4.2.6 SP11 but
no further releases, patches or enhancements will be released.

How do I find out my version
information?
SunSystems
4.2.x
From anywhere within the application, hit the
F9 key – the version number plus Service Pack is shown on the
pop-up window
SunSystems 4.3.x
From anywhere within the application, hit the
F9 key – the version number plus Service Pack is shown on the
pop-up window
SunSystems 5.x
From within the application, go to Help About
and make a note of the full version number (eg 5.01 xxxxxxx)
Vision 5.x
On the logon screen of the application, the
version number is located in the bottom right hand corner.
Vision 6.x
It is important to note both the version of
Vision and the Serduct number. At the bottom of the logon screen to
the application will be icons representing both Vision and all of
the serducts you have loaded. Hover the mouse over each of the
icons in turn for the version number (eg Vision : 6.3.3-1,
SunSystems 4 : 10.004)

& Analysis v 10
(this is the rebrand of the Vision product
suite. Additionally, serducts have been re-branded as
DataLinks)
